Stopping Smoking - Can You Stay Off?

You’ve been able to stay off cigarettes past 2weeks.  The worst of cravings seems to be over.  But are they?  Research has shown (McCleron et al: Nicotine & Tobacco Research, Volume 9, Issue 4 April 2007) that certain foods actually enhance the taste of cigarettes, so it may be safely concluded that if these foods are taken, a cigarette may not taste too bad with them, thereby increasing the risk that the lighted fag may find its way into the mouth faster than expected.
These culprits are red meats, coffee and alcoholic beverages.  Items like fruits/vegetables, noncaffeinated beverages, and dairy products tended to make cigarettes taste worse.  These are thus items which should be in plentiful supply to reduce the longing for a cigarette “to go with the food”
