Why Hair Turns Gray

Scientists now have found out that why hair turns gray.  The reason hair turns gray is because there is a lack of an enzyme called catalase that is supposed to catalyze the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide in the hair.  Hydrogen peroxide apparently occurs naturally in the hair.  With age however the level of catalase activity reduces and the hydrogen peroxide levels build up and causes the graying process.
